LOVE PIRU
On Saturday, June 6, 2009, ACTION and Calvary Community Church will work together with area Christians to assist in meeting the needs of families living in difficult situations. We are currently preparing for this Community Day of Service, to be held in the town of Piru.Over 500 volunteers plan on blanketing the older neighborhoods to improve the parkways and general appearance with general cleanup, weed abatement, fence repair and some painting. We also want to encourage community involvement by inviting as many people as possible from the town of Piru, including youth to participate in this enormous blessing. We hope that you will be a part of this day, by signing up at http://www.actionvc.org. or just show up to help.
To kick off this effort, we invite you to a meeting on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 to discuss this outreach. This meeting will be at 7 pm at the Piru Community Center. In addition to the general town makeover, we will have some contractor types that will donate their services for specific interior and exterior repairs. If you need some assistance with a small handyman type repair, please feel free to fill out the application below. If we can not get to your home on June 6th, it's still possible we can help at a later date if we know the need. The support of Individuals and Business owners is what makes it possible for ACTION to reach out and enrich the services we provide to the people of Piru. Thank you in advance for your contributions and partnership in doing this very important kingdom work. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to cover expenses and donate to ACTION for future community makeovers. We also covet your prayers!
